The game was so boring, I almost fell asleep, the Soca warriors hardly touch the ball and when they did they ended up injured but do not think because the Mexicans hit them but they injured themselves! they twisted their own feet and all kind of things, they are really "mambi pambis"
Last night they showed the review against St. Kitts. They (T&T) missed a lot of shots and should have scored even higher. The first goal was actually a ball off a defender which means St. Kitts was really out of it. Their goal keeper looked funny with a big rasta cap on, I was surprised it was even allowed.

Islanders Trinidad & Tobago begin their final round of North, Central American and Caribbean zone qualifying for Germany 2006 on 9 February against the United States. |
Well at the time the US was playing against Trinidad (first time) they really were not as good as they are now and that was T&T's chance. Now the US is a formidable team - in my opinion, we do not stand a chance - this based on what I have seen of their playing skills so far.
As a note: Dwight York, who has basically been going downhill in the UK is returning to be on the team. I guess because there really are no star players.
Well, I think the US have a pretty good team (I do not think it is 'formidable' though ) but I do agree that Trinidad may not be able to cope with it. I cannot believe the desesperation of the team in bringing Dwight York! The guy has not trained with the team not even ONCE for the past 4 years!!! what are they thinking??? *shaking head*
Surprised? Not really...Trinidad cannot beat the US in football for the past 15 years!!!
U.S. again spoils Trinidad's party
PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad - Fifteen years later, the United States still knows how to spoil Trinidad's party.
Eddie Johnson kept up his incredible run of goals when he scored in the 30th minute, Eddie Lewis boosted the lead early in the second half and the United States beat Trinidad and Tobago 2-1 Wednesday in the opener of the final round of World Cup qualifying.
Kasey Keller, who made a 23-hour trip from Germany on Monday to get to the game, made a sliding save on Leslie Fitzpatrick on a breakaway eight minutes into the second half that denied a tying goal. Keller also made several fine stops in the first half on Stern John and Dwight Yorke, playing his first official game for T&T since June 2001.
Less than three weeks ago, the Americans didn't even know if they would have their top players or would send a team of minor leaguers because of a labor dispute. But an interim settlement ensured the regulars would be on the field through 2005, and the 11th-ranked U.S. team, featuring Real Salt Lake players Eddie Pope (who started) and Clint Mathis (who did not dress), imposed its will on Trinidad and Tobago, ranked 61st, until tiring in the final minutes....

Judging from the score, it would seem T&T made a game of it, even if the 1 goal was scored in the 90th minute. Did anyone actually watch the game? I am interested in whether the US played below par or T&T played above average, because I would have expected a larger deficit in the final score.
