LATAPY KEEPS 'EM WAITING
T&T coach holds off on naming squad to face Costa Rica
TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO head coach Russell Latapy will wait until the very last minute to name his final squad for upcoming 2010 World Cup qualifiers--against Costa Rica on June 6 and Mexico on June 10. Ref. Source 2
Najjar: T&T need discipline, defence vs Costa Rica
Former Trinidad and Tobago coach Hannibal Najjar says T&T have to be mentally tough and defensively disciplined to beat Costa Rica in their CONCACAF 2010 World Cup qualifier on Saturday. Ref. Source 2
Costa Rica won 3:2. The match was entertaining. Lots of missed opportunities on both sides. In the end Costa Rica continued to show us that we cannot beat them. Actually we have not beat Costa Rica in three or four decades in any World Cup qualifying match.
T&T will be playing Mexico in less than two hours with their last hope for qualifying. Mexico is in a bad state, but given the odds: away from home, T&T defense / attack players not with the team and most of all the high altitude I doubt they will accomplish much. Hats off if they do. Latapy certainly brought more spunk to the team.
