I think that a lot of times it is not people being rude, but our perception that could be misleading. It is difficult to express your feelings in words, especially when the person receiving the communication can not see your facial and body expressions. Sometimes a simple joke turns into something extremely ugly. Add to it the racial and cultural differences and you have a possible recipe for disaster.... |
I often find it rude when a user simply tries to by-pass all the rules or policies or whatever you have establish simply because they want to get to the 'meat' of the matter. They never seem to understand that the whole reason we have the forms and polices is so things can run smooth and everyone can get to the 'meat' faster. A good example of this is when they use our contact form and refuse to fill in which site they are talking about because they want to be 'speedy' or maybe they are just lazy. We then have to writ back to them asking which site they are talking about and they start to get angry because they do not realize we have 100's of sites to maintain! So in a nutshell - patience is virtue.
I completely agree with that and would absolutely find that rude as well. Is there a code you can put on the form so they are not able to submit it without that info?
Of course you can add codes and more codes, but there is always someway of going around that too. For instance I may ask for your name and you just type in "dfhuihwn@!#". For me I give people that send Emails or messages little of my time, I just ignore or delete them because the way I see it... if they do not have the time to even write a good Email then they will not have the time to read a good answer.
There are rules all over the place. If the forums you are using are filed with rude people and this is tolerated by the moderators, don't use them anymore; if you don't like the ones you are working for; don't work with them. Anybody has the choice of avoiding this unpleasant "encoders"... Think for example that you go into a dirty picture comment forum, do you think that you have any rights to protest against the language and only stick to the "inner beautifulness" of the imagines
I use to visit many chatrooms and forums but I tend not to stay if there are people inside who think that forum or chatroom is theirs and they can do whatever they want and ruin everything for everyone just because they feel like it. Sadly its more and more spread on the worldwide web. But some forums / chatrooms found efficient people to take care of them.
