Have you used the browser called, 'FireFox'? Many claim that it works very well, others say that it slows down your computer or in some cases - even crashes it. Here are the stats according to their web site:

We use a group of browsers on our computers at home. Of course, all have IE. But other than that, I use Mozilla, for the most part on my own laptop and the family computer, my wife now uses Firefox on her laptop, and my son uses Firefox almost exclusively, and my college-age daughter uses Mozilla on her laptop. I occasionally use Opera.
I like Firefox. I haven't seen any problems with it at all. The popup blocking seems to be very reliable, and very smart. So, if I click on a link that requires a popup to work (i.e. the "clickable smilies" on this forum) the popup comes up. But if the webpage just starts calling for popups, they don't appear.
I haven't tried to customize the browser, so can't comment on that.
I love tabbed browsing.
It appears that you can change the downloading from defaulting to the desktop (which I abhor) to asking for the location.
Anyway, I highly recommend Firefox.
I just downloaded Fire Fox a cauple days ago because my IE got all messed up. So far its been far supperior to IE.
I realy like how it stops pop-ups, like Nighthawk said. I like that it stops Spyware too.
The only thing I found that it had a problem with is it doesent show glow on text. This isent a real problem though so it doesent realy count against it.
I would recommend Fire Fox.

I started - as everyone I guess - with IE, but a few month ago, a friend (he is very good with computers) told me about Mozilla Firefox. I have read about this browser before, but until I haven't had confirmation from that friend I was somehow uncomfortable to make the change. I'm glad I did it. The only thing that I can sense is that the speed of loading the pages is way better that IE. I only customized the search - the languages. Overall, I like more Firefox, but I can't say I'm an expert.
I dowloaded Firefox about a year ago, and I must say that it is far superior to IE in all ways but one. Firefox requires multiple plug-ins to use most things. Plug-ins on Firefox are bad. If anyone has had a problem with Firefox crashing, it's probably because they downloaded too many plug-ins. For Anything that requires a plug-in: I would recomend copy-pasting the link into your IE browser and using it that way, because the plug-ins plant spyware and possibly viruses into your computer.
Firefox's popup blocker is excellent. It blocks everything that would popup on your computer, and with a simple hotkey instruction, you can allow a popup to load.
As for the multi-tabbing and built-in search bars: I rarely use the mutli-tabbing or the built in search bars, but they are there, and can be convenient I suppose.
