Hotmail.com has been supplying Email accounts for a long time, in fact, it has been one of the most integrated Email servers around thanks to the MSN IE Browser. Many have become intolerant of Hotmail over the years because of the number of spam mail that an average account receives. Things appear to be improving, what is your review?
I still have a Hotmail account. Since Hotmail seems to give my address away to all the spammers, I only use it now to sign up for information. If the information is worth anything, I will change my address to another, more useful address.
I detest Hotmail. Small space available, and they count all the junk email in the space used. So, since I get LOTS of spam, it fills up my account very quickly.
If they are getting better about not releasing the addresses to the spammers, I haven't seen it. There isn't even any type of training facility in it to teach it what is and isn't spam.
Finally, if you open up a link from an email, it opens into a window which is controlled by Hotmail, which can make bookmarking that page a real problem. I can understand such behavior from a forum like this, be even here you provide a way to close the controlling window. Hotmail doesn't.
Stay away from it. Just like IE, it is seductive but evil.
My short lived experience with Hotmail was this: The first day I created the account I received over 40 spam emails; without me even giving out my email to anyone!!! That is why Hotmail sucks so much. I would not check my email account for 2 days and it would be full with spam. I eventually stopped using it and they cancelled it. I absolutely hate Hotmail, more than AOL, and I wont recommend it to anyone, ever.
I've been using hotmail accounts for the past couple of years. I have two at the moment. They're okay for free e-mail servers, but I've been getting annoyed lately. Not because of spam, because I really don't get any, but because the site is constantly timing our or too busy.
Some Hotmail users stuck firing blanks
Microsoft is scrambling to fix a bug in its free Hotmail email service that mysteriously [removes] the body text from sent and received messages.
