Is it caricature an art, or can never have the dignity of a "serious" painting?
I'm very interested to know what people think about caricatures, because I'm working on a collection of them, and it is an important piece of information to me.
You don't have to be nice to me, just give me your honest opinion!
Thanks!
Frederico
I feel that Caricatures is a art form. It takes a good talent to draw a person even if it is a comic book style of drawing. Having the persons features drawn is not a easy thing to do and I believe anyone who can do this is a talented person. I know I can not do it and I can draw a bit.
People would be surprised where one can find art. Whether it is in the Caricatures being drawn on the street corner or the lay out of the local park. Even a lot of the modern buildings have some form of art laid into them. Art is all around us in most everything we see or do. We just have to take the time to slow down in our fast paced lives and really look at it to appreciate it.
I agree with you again, KNtoran.
I think most ancient forms of art benefits from the fact that in those days they lived slowly and had time for some spiritual depht (and artistical).
So, they made masterpieces that no one could repeat, and made their art forms so great that is hard to impose new ones.

Comments: They can be good or bad. They can just be a plain insult. Its all funny when its someone else but when you're the one in the caricature its not so funny anymore.
