Greece is one of those teams that can get on a hot streak and make a deep run in a tournament. Not saying that will be the case here but I'm not surprised they beat Ivory Coast.
I don't think the Greeks can do a '300' in Brazil, in other words... They don't seem to have what it takes to make any significant run in the next round.
By the way, Malexander, who are you supporting among the teams for the World Cup?
Coming into the World Cup I was supporting the USA and Italy. Now that Italy is officially out I will continue to root for the US but I also like the Dutch team now and wouldn't mind seeing them win their first World Cup.
The Dutch are looking good but they have a tendency, like the Germans, to go slower in the final stages.
The Italians are going to followup with that biting incident that cut them short, but even if FIFA officials deal with the player involved, the Italians have lost their chance in the World Cup.
I like France and have been forced into secondary supporting Argentina for their matches because of Pandora. Hopefully they do not meet France.
Well if Argentina and France win their respective games tomorrow, they will top their groups, so they won't meet (Yet heh).
I am a bit disappointed on what happened today with the biting and how the Greeks won their game. FIFA advocates fair play, this is not what the World Cup should be about. Those 'guilty' players should be penalized a bit more seriously in my opinion and these dives and fake injuries will stop but we will see what happens...oh and say goodbye to Suarez, I am sure he will be banned for the rest of the World Cup and beyond.
Tomorrow looks to be promising...I just hope we will have no more dramas tomorrow...

It's funny no one is talking about Brazil even though they were heavy favorites because it is on their home soil. I believe people have been disappointed with their play even though they won their group and are probably being cautious in their expectations.
Also Mexico have seemed to finally get their act together at the right time under Herrera and could well make a splash as well. It is good to see the CONCACAF teams doing well.
That is because so far Brazil only has Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior or just Neymar. Without him I feel Brazil is just another team to beat. They have home advantage but I don't know if that is enough to save them. Of course there are those who associate football with Brazil and support them because of that but I feel its because they simply know nothing about football.
I completely agree with you JB. I've never understood why so many people support Brazil when they don't know anyone on the team, except for a few celebrity figures such as Neymar, or Ronaldo in the past. I grew up watching Italian Serie A football and Juventus is one of my favorite teams, which is why I started to follow the Italian national team in tournaments as well, because many of the Juventus players would end up on team Italy. This fascination with the Brazilian national team is surprising to me, especially here in the US.
Neymar, to me, still has a long way to go to becoming a world class player. I don't see this team going very far.
