Beds

A good night sleep is so important for your back, mind, and overall health. Some people like a firm bed, others want soft and yet others are not happy without a water bed. Which brand is your favorite and why?

Firm!! Gotta have that support. Soft beds are just uncomfortable for me. I do use cushions and pillows too, though.

I never did like water beds... all that vinyl is too sweaty :-P

I love water beds, I used to have one. The only drawback is having to drain it when you move, that is not fun and that's why I don't have one now. I personally like a fairly firm bed, right now I am looking for a new one. Speaking of beds I have a question for you. The bed I have right now belonged to my grandmother, she bought it only a year before she died. Most of my friends think it's strange that I sleep in her bed mainly because she died in bed. I have never had any problems with sleeping in this bed. Does anyone here think this is strange?

I would love to try a water bed! I'm sure it feels sooo good...although knowing my wild little son I hope he doesn't make a mess laugh.gif

No, I don't think is strange. People are way too superticious. There is nothing wrong with that. It is just a bed, for heaven's sake!!! laugh.gif Don't listen to them.

water beds are awesome to sleep on! plus they are fun to just play on...hopefully i won't end up popping one from playing on it too much..hehe...

right now i own a medium to hard matress...fits me just fine mostly cuz i have a curved back, so the matress that i have is still comfortable to sleep on, yet still hard enough to help me form my back to a straighter path.

We recently bought a Select Comfort Sleep Number bed. I like the mattress to be quite firm, my wife likes it much softer. Most of my back pain has gone since switching to this. I can make it so firm it is like sleeping on a thin mat on the floor (without the pain of pressing against a board smile.gif ). I usually make it firm enough to keep my spine quite straight when sleeping on my side (about a 70).

There are a variety of brands on the market now. We should have ordered one through the internet, and saved a bunch of money, but we were very impressed by this particular bed.

I can't recommend this style of mattress enough.

BTW, we had a "waveless" water bed years ago. It was great.

I don't particularly like water beds; I've slept on one only once and swore I wwouldn'tagain if I could avoid it. I like a firm bed but a soft pillow, preferably two soft pillows. Last year before my wife got pregnant, we made the investment in a new bed and hhaven'tregretted the decision. Before that we had one of those platform beds, where you slide two pieces together and place the mattress on top. It wwasn'tbad, but it was so low to the ground. If we would have had it when she was pregnant I don't know if she would have been able to get out of it!

We must have just about owned every make of bed on the British market, and no matter how expensive they are, they never last. We even bought a $750 Burgess, but that too only lasted a year and a half.

We at the moment have a Sealy Posturepaedic bed, that we have had for about 2 years, this has been about the best of the 10 or 11 that we have had so far. laugh.gif
