What are your thoughts about the work of the Trinidad & Tobago Transit Police service in policing the roads of the country?

On the news one of the transit officers said that their salary is only $4,600 a month! That is no money to be out in the sun all day policing roads.

So much? All I see them doing is standing in traffic with a piece of paper and pen in hand. A whole bunch of them. I don't know what to tell you but I haven't seen any of them working.

Comments: With more money people are more motivated to work. Even the cops who recently had a huge battle with this.

Do not keep Transit Police at the priority route only let them be part of all highways where more devious crimes are committed by drivers daily.

Pay them more money. Since they have lots of experience in dealing with the community after all they are mostly seniors officers that retired with more seasoned experience than junior officers.

Comments: Why the Minister of National Security and the Commissioner of Police pay a blind eye to the Transit Police Unit's cry? Are they part of the corruption? The transit police employer call OLEP from the Ministry of National Security are responsible for the payment to the transit police unit but instead they are playing around with their money and no one to address this situation for a long time now. The national security and the commissioner of police should fix that instead of paying a blind eye, OLEP is not paying the officers NIS, TAX, Health surcharge and they have outstanding money for the officers. Stop OLEP but allow the Commissioner of Police.

Comments: We the Transit Police can do much better, some one is short paying the officers, in other words the two most senior with carky clothing and people from ministry of national security is stealing the Police officers every month and like the commissioner pay a blind eye to those things. Get them out and let the police control the unit, too much stealing of officers salary. There so much to say which you will not believe. Every[one] pay[ing a] blind eye.

The T&T transit police were supposed to ease up the burden of regular police but as far as I see there aren't enough transit police. There should be transit police at every busy intersection in this country.
