I think the bear would win. Bears are a lot bigger and stronger than lions they also tend to be more ferocious if they are protecting their home or cubs.

I will not second rate the power of a lion because in battle they can also stand on their hind legs and deliver a bite to the neck of the bear that will bring him down. They also do not have to have to let go until the bear bleeds to death. Bears don't have that kind of jaw grip.
