The FCC might be trying to put him out of busisness but the king of all media still rules the air waves. Howard Stern increased his listeners by 7.2% since being targeted by the FCC in March. What are your thoughts on his show and do you think he needs to be banned from Radio Broadcasting ?
I don't see any particular reason that the FCC should even be concerned about him. Yes, he is vulgar, course, and frequently over the line. But I believe in liberty, and don't really like the government getting involved.
Personally, I can't stand to listen to him.
He's disgusting, and makes his living from people who enjoy that sort of thing. I can't stand him, or what he stands for. I don't think it should be the government that takes him out, but certainly someone should.
In my opinion, of course.

Stern to Join Sirius Satellite Radio
Howard Stern has long had two words for the Federal Communications Commission and in 15 months, he can finally utter them on...

Here is some perspective on Howard Stern's popularity and draw. His new Sirius contract is worth a reported $500 million US for 10 years! That's 50 million a year! Compared to his initial radio contract which was worth $200,000 a year, I'd say he's doing pretty well for himself.
I find it hard to believe that he can broadcast the vulgarities he's known for on open radio! Children have access to public broadcast, and as such to Howard Stern and anything else on open broadcast radio. Movies and games get ratings and restrictions, yet seemingly radio slips by. I would never let my kids listen to his show, yet the FCC seems to think it's acceptable. I believe in freedom and liberty, and that applies to my NOT having to put up with vulgar media as much as other folks say it's their right TO experience it.
