Guns, aliens and Rihanna triumph
Somewhere between a film based on a Hasbro board game and the casting of music diva and screen novice Rihanna, expectations for this big-budget alien-blast-a-thon reached the sort of lows found only in the Mariana Trench. Ref. Source 1

Rihanna Leads the Troops at the "Battleship" Premiere
It was an exciting moment for Rihanna on Thursday, May 10, as she donned a sexy white gown and walked her first red carpet as an actress. Never one to do things small, the Barbadian native is about to take Hollywood by storm, leading the charge in "Battleship," the new blockbuster action flick based on the classic Hasbro board game of the same name. Budgeted at $200 million, the movie is Hasbro's latest attempt to turn their popular games and toys into movie franchises; in fact, the great success of "Transformers" and "G.I. Joe" led directly to the making of "Battleship."

There were glitches in this movie that were too ridiculous to go into any depth but needless to say it was really for children with not much expectations except for seeing bright lights and shiny things fly through the air blowing up stuff.
I didn't get why there weren't force fields around the ships. If they could create a force field so big around themselves then it means they had the technology. I didn't get the point of Rihanna there she looked like a misfit.
The movie was okay however I was quite disappointed to see an excellent actor such as Liam Neeson in a movie of these characteristics. The acting was pretty good but the story line was so cheesy and inauthentic, just purely not believable.
I was surprised to see Rihanna there and I must say she did a pretty good taking into consideration this is her first role in a movie. Taylor Kitsch did also a good job.
