This presidential election will be a close like it has been over the past decade. I don't know if choosing either candidate will make any real significant difference in the way our country is managed but we are already familiar with Obama's strategy and I also have mixed feelings.

It seems the approach of each candidate is very different. Only by studying the recent statements by Romney will clairify what he is seeing as a plan for the economy. Obama has had a chance to change things and the only thing I see is he bailed out the car industry but at what cost. How much has been put back in the budget? How deep in debt do we go before we are broke?

As far a voting for the lesser of two evils, that has been going on for a long time. Government service (congress and senate) has become a get rich position and not a matter of serving the country. The constitution is considered a guide line not a matter of law to most who serve. Where are the patriots to run for office?
Can you think what it will be like to see a Libertarian run for office and win, maybe America is not ready for it and so you get Obama and Romney. I can tell you that the topic of patriotism is a whole debate by itself.

I think if you read about John Adams and the founders you see true patriots and people of faith. They knew the rights that men are born with and believed in government interfering as little as possible. They also believed in defending these rights. Who outside of the military and border agents does that today? How many are truly willing to defend their homes and family with their life if necessary? The Military serve to preserve peace where the government sends them, and Border agents give their lives to preserve our freedom from terrorism and the drugs coming into the country. We should be willing to do the same and vote for those who seem most willing to go toward those goals. Just my humble opinion.
That is a Libertarian point of view but Democrats and Republicans have always been about big government so no matter who you chose from the two that is what you get. The only real difference are personal values: abortion, gay rights, who should pay for what, etc.

A new survey indicates President Barack Obama moved up 4 points after the Democratic convention and now has a 6-point advantage over Republican challenger Mitt Romney.
According to the CNN/ORC International Poll, 52% of likely voters nationwide back the president, compared with 46% for Romney. Just before the Democratic convention, Obama was tied with Romney 48%-48%.
Post-convention bounces have often proven to be temporary in past elections.
"Some voters will feel a bit of a sugar high," a memorandum from Romney campaign pollster Neil Newhouse said. "The basic structure of the race has not changed significantly." Ref. CNN
