Parent Abuse

What are your thoughts about Parent Abuse where the child intentionally seeks to harm in some way their own parents? Reckless teenagers maybe guilty of this but is it limited to teenagers? Can a younger child abuse their parents? Is it about age or maturity and how are both determined?

Abuse Parent

Yes this is more like it. Any form of abuse should not be tolerated but the main problem with parent abuse is that mostly the parents have to reach breaking point to act on it. Most are too embarrassed to admit, even to themselves far less to others, that they are being abused.
I believe there will be some sort of age limit. They say the age of reason is 7 give or take a year, so a child before his/her age of reason won't really be responsible for any abuse towards his/her parent. Now children can be quite clever and they are always testing their parents to see what they can get a away with but that is just them wanting their instant gratification. A child pass this age will very well know what he/she is doing, so yes it is abuse at this point.
I am doing all this with the assumption that we are talking about children that do not have special needs but it boils down to that age of reason part. If the child is a teen but his mind is not at the reasoning age yet, can we hold him/her responsible for his actions?
Now maturity brings up an interesting point. Can an Immature child be responsible for his actions? That spoiled child who must get everything he wants. Is he responsible for his behaviour or is it the parents' fault?

I see this all the time and its getting worst and we have many liberals and business men to thank for it. The liberals for making it so that you can't even punish bad actions without being labeled as an abusive parent. The businessmen because they market these games and music that tell your children to hate you, not listen to you and for them to do what they want.

Teens abuse their parents more suitably than parent's realize. Teens can especially bee excellent actors. Some of them know its better to butter up mommy and daddy than it is to defy them. They play their double role so well that the parent does all the child ask almost without question as though it was the parent's personal will.
