Are Mystics Open Minded?
Are those who dabble in mysticism and the paranormal generally open minded about secular religion?
Not in my opinion, no. They think they already have all the answers, so they're not quite as accepting of other peoples views or beliefs.
As in all people, you are going to find the odd one that is going to be open minded enough to listen to or take an interest in others' point of view.
My works colleague dabbles in all things mystical, and it totally rules her life, because she can't believe they can ever be wrong. To be truthful, as a Christian, I find it quite unnerving, especially as I don't believe in any of it, it makes me question where all these 'answers' are coming from?.. To sum it up, I don't believe the mystical and paranormal activities are safe to dabble in.
Actually I will have to disagree with DianeC because I am a very religious Christian and I am open minded as a mysticism and paranormal believer. I am very spiritually sensitive as in I know when the physical or dead or spirits or ghost (whatever you want to call them) are around. I am an Amerindianmix as in I have some cherokee as well as other heritages in me and Indians are very close to the spirit world and things like that and I am very intouch with them as well. I get my sensitivity from my indian heritage and that heritage is the one that I am most involved in although I am interested in my other heritage or races or whatever you want to call it I am more interested and involved like I said with the indian side of me.
