Twenty-one-year-old missionary Matthew Weirich of Fredericksburg, Texas,
is continuing to recover from a 230-foot fall from a cliff in an Australian
national park June 23. His mother, who, along with the rest of the family,
is with Matthew as he recuperates in the hospital, was thrilled when she
looked into her son's eyes and heard him say, "I love you." At the time
of the accident, she had feared she might not hear those words again.

I have been following the story too, I was very touched when this missionary hold her mom's hand and told her 'I love you' while a tear ran across his cheek....I'm so glad he is doing so much better.

I don't have a reason why this man lived, but its really quite amazing. He isn't the first to fall from huge heights and live. I believe time life had a story about a man who fell out of a plane, bounced twice, and lived! I'm glad he lived, but I'm pretty sure that he wasn't happy when he woke up. I am glad this guy lived and that he is recovering, but I hope they are giving him something to keep him out of pain.

I think it is very surprising that a person survived that kind of fall. This boy survived a 230 ft fall but most can't survive a 100 ft fall.
