Even if you are not a TV couch potato I'm sure you want to watch a good picture.

I wish I could watch TV! The kind of television you use may affect your enjoyment of what is showing. Some resolutions are very sharp - others show more brightly and so on. Which brand of TV do you like to buy?

I used to believe in name brand tv's until I bought a Sony and it went out on me a couple of months later; right after the warranty had expired of course. Now I dont pay attention to manufacturers, not unless I am purchasing a large, expensive one. Then I may do some research before I make my purchase.

I like Sanyo best, but I also will buy Samsung. The one brand I try to stay away from is Magnavox. I've never had good luck with Magnavoxes. I used to buy only Sony but they don't seem to be as good as they used to be. I think the best brand name, if you don't care about price, is Toshiba.

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT BIG-SCREEN TVS

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Want a big-screen television set before this year's Super Bowl? Better figure out if you want LCD, DLP, PDP or CRT, and if you want your picture to be HD, ED or plain old SD.

This is a trick question I believe. When it comes to a clear and brilliant picture I am very fond of Toshiba and Sony. Most likely Toshiba would be my choice in picture. That being said if we were also to consider reliability into the equation then I would have to bump Mitsubisi up to the top of the list.

*With todays plasma TV's being a factor I might be more prone to buy a Sony simply because of their Vega series having the ratings that it does.

We bought a new tv last year, and opted for a Sanyo, unfortunately we've been disappointed with it. The picture quality is really good, but the sound quality is really naff. We have to put the sound on number 25, before we can even hear it properly. It's still under warranty, so I think that'll be one of the jobs we'll have to get sorted pretty soon.

In the past the best one we had was a Mitsubishi,I think we'll stay with that one next time.

The last tv I bought was over a year ago. IT was a Visio Or something like that A LCD 39" HD tv. I found it on sale for a cool $700. When I was looking at all the brand names I could not stop looking back at this one. IT had just as good picture just as good sound and was cheaper. I thought I would give it a try. I am very happy with this tv. I have not had any problems with it and I have hooked it into my home theatre system. The sound is excellent. I have great picture on my HD channels and a good picture on the analog channels. It has served me very nicely. I would not hesitate to buy another one now.
