Autism & Common Cold - Illness

Autism & Common Cold - Illness

For my own autistic boys I've noticed that when they have the cold, a virus or some sort of illness they become even more unreasonable and unaware of their surroundings. The discomfort from their symptoms no matter how mild is enough to bring out something from within them that cannot be comforted no matter how hard you try.

Thats very interesting, as an aspie myself I suppose I have always had some minor issues with being aware of my surroundings. I wish I could offer you any advice that may help but I am afraid I am unable to do so, there is a forum called [..] that has a lot of parents of Aspergers syndrome and Autistic children that are very helpful and the people on their are very kind smile.gif, I used to be on it myself for a little while along time ago.

We have cut out milk from their diet and it has helped greatly. They still eat regular cheddar cheese, eat some milk based foods and drink Soy chocolate milk but they are not as sick as they used to be from drinking straight full cream milk as they used to.
