Which religious group tends to knock at your door the most? Jehovah Witnesses, Mormons or some other - tell us about it.

Who Dares To Knock?

Some religions count on proselyting as the main for of spreading their doctrine, others rely on word of mouth and yet still others simply do not proselyte at probably because they do not need to or they feel it is not worthwhile. The purpose of this thread is to find out which religious group tends to come knocking at your door the most? How often do they come, and do you let them in or at least listen to them?

Jehovah's Witnesses, by far, come knocking the most, not necessarily at my own door. And I see them in groups, dressed in their Sunday best -- men women and children, too -- as they gather beforehand. I will greet them politely and tell them of my faith. But I don't invite them in or actually "listen" to them because I'm not interested in converting to their church. I do appreciate that they are faithful to their religion and are doing what they feel commanded to do, so I'm respectful and polite.

Jehovah's Witnesses also visit our door one a month or so. I understand that they have a set of discussions that give you their version of the truth, once done they promise not to bother you again as you are considered 'informed' and thus accountable at the last day.

Jehovah Witnesses of course, I admire their strength and faith in what they believe. I wish the members of my Church could have only 10% of their determination of preaching the Gospel.
I accepted a Bible study in the past to touch some basic principles of the Gospel, it was pretty okay, although we ended up not agreeing in a lot of things. tongue.gif But they were always polite and kind.

My former boss and his family were Jehovah's Witnesses. He made it a rule to keep all religion talk out of the work place. That worked very well, although his daughter, Roberta, and I used to have discussions about her religion. I was curious and she was perfectly happy to talk without trying to convert me. A lot of their beliefs are very good and I would agree with them. The ONLY one that was a problem for me was the blood transfusions part. They absolutly do not allow them even to save someones life. I can't agree with that. I was raised Catholic, but I haven't practiced my religion for quite a few years. I had thought that I could get into JW, until I read about the transfusions. But that is their belief so I respect them for that. I haven't had any visits from them at my current location and if I do I will be respectful, but say no thanks.

Well, we must give them (JWs) an 'A' for effort, despite everyone saying 'No' we are sure that they will visit some aspect of our lives. They are probably the only religious group I can think of that regularly gets its members to participate in making visits - that is something people even in our gathering can learn from.

Who Dares Knock

The Jehovahs Witnesses always come knocking in my neighborhood. In a way, its noble that they have such dedication. But at the same time, I really hate having them come knock on my door every saturday telling me I need to convert. I study my Bible well and know it better than almost everyone of them that comes to my door. I hate to make them question their faith, but they wont leave. So I bring up the most questioning bible versus and they always leave perplexed!

This is interesting because in my neighborhood it is mostly mormon missionaries. They don't come to my door because I am on their list as a member already, but during my long period of inactivity they came to my door several times. They did not have me on their list as a less active member at that time either, so that doesn't explain it. I live in a city that always has at least two missionaries assigned to it, so at some point my street is tracted. It isn't a big city, only about 35,000 so every few years, I am bound to see them on my street.

I think I recall vaguely years ago having a Jehovah's Witness come to my door, bu it was a long time ago. Nothing recently.
