An interesting discussion that we had in history was the fact that back when Native americans were being moved into reservations, a lot of times they would fight back and would kill a lot of the settlers, farmers etc. And the teachers question was " was it right to fight back" and I told him that it certainly was, and said that if another country were invading us right now, and told us we had to dress like them and speak their language, and then began to take away our sons and daughters forever so that they could convert them into what they believed was "civilized" would it be wrong if we were to try and fight back? and that is how I believe it was with Native Americans. A lot of people also believe that the natives were the ones who acted savagely, and yes they did do some things that were perhaps a little violent, but at the same time you had white farmers and settlers who would drive species of animals to mere extinction if not close to it, not for food, but simply because they enjoyed the sport of killing, and that was something that they viewed cruelly because the animals are your brothers and sisters and every creature has a pure spirit. So, do you think they had the right to fight back?

This Thread is very much like a Topic we have here called, Fighting Terrorism Since 1492 in which your question is already answered with not only a "yes" but also labeling it as an ongoing fight.
