Ray Bradbury's writings are known the world over. he was really one of the best science fiction authors around and appealed for any age group though teenagers seemed to be more taken by his writings.
I remember reading a short story by Bradbury, on how in the near future we will all be glued to a TV-like machine, and all of the roads will fall into disrepair as no one ventures out. I find it somewhat applicable today, as we are spending more and more time in front of a screen.
