What are your thoughts about the man known as "James Strang" who appointed himself as Joseph Smith's successor and led a group of believers who rivaled the number that followed Brigham Young at the time?

Comments: For me James Strang showed just how easily moved the Mormons were back then. Jospeh Smith did not ensure a clear path to how the next leader is chosen and this gave men like James Strang a loophole in the Mormon church to work his own devise. Funny how the same happened with his following, he did not leave a successor.
