Sodium Bicarbonate
I have recently been researching the many uses of Sodium Bicarbonate or Baking Soda. Sodium Bicarbonate can raise the PH level in your body thus allowing your system to get rid of acids / poisons in the body that cause disease. Have you tried Sodium Bicarbonate as part of your daily health routine?

I've never thought about this before but it makes sense when I see it on some tooth paste labels as an enhancer for whitening teeth and fresh breath.
The Baking Soda idea came up on a plant fruit site I belong too, the principle is good, but not with Baking Soda, it is a basically a inorganic mineral source. If you have a healthy pro-biotic culture in your GI tract, it can absorb and modify some of it, so that once it dies, you can utilize it.
I find that when your body is acid, your body tends to store inorganic minerals in your tissues and on the outside of you bones and in your joints, because it really does not know how to use or handle it.
Your body only really absorbs and utilizes organic minerals, from plants and supplements modified in a inorganic process.
Basically, your body needs to be slightly Alkaline to function properly, when it goes acid, it cannot, and oxygen level drop in the body as well. Degenerative diseases as we know of today, are mostly caused when your body goes acid from our modern processed diets, and too much animal protein and especially sodas and etc. Do you realize that to neutralize the acid in a soda, you will need to drink 30 to 60 equivalent amounts of water, to neutralize it, depending on the pH of the water. Most city tap water in the US is regulated to be at or near a pH of 7, but reverse osmosis and distilled water is quite acid itself, but nothing compared to brown colored sodas, citrus ones are normally a bit less acid.
Best way to be get a more alkaline body, stop eating or greatly reduce the intake of animal products, white flour and sugar and etc and sodas. I did read a research report by the Seventh Day Adventist Church, La Linda University research center, they found you can eat 3 ounces a day on the average, and it won't affect you body pH. So eat meat sparingly on a daily basis, or larger amounts 2 to 3 or more times a week.
You want to eat more veggies and fruits and whole grains. I find that smaller less hybridized grain like seeds tend to have far more nutrition, protein and more alkaline, a major exception is eating cook millet, it is like drinking milk for calcium and sesame seeds are like 50 % calcium.
The problem with Osteoporosis, is not so much with consuming enough calcium as you grow up and age, but not consuming so much acid ash foods. Osteoporosis I have more recently read on medical reports, begins at birth, not when you get older, it is a life time process, you are either saving up and putting it away or loosing. If you eat too much acid food, you cannot consume enough calcium and other minerals to off set it.

There have been some online that say that Baking Soda works well for them when they have a hang over the next morning from a night of drinking. It also helps cancer patients with high acidity. Lastly, it has good uses as a mouth cleanser to both brush / whiten your teeth and as a mouth wash to kill germs.
In my native country, Italy, sodium bicarbonate is widely used to help digestion, specially after big lunches or dinners. For example, at Christmas or New Year's Eve when people usually abuse on food and drinks. For daily health care, however, magnesium compounds are prefered.
