Avan hits another shadow with holy water, killing it. Jack chucks his vial, landing an incredibly lucky shot, killing the second shadow.
No more shadows are detected around the group. This battle with the shadows is over, you've won.
(Sorry guys I hate to keep you all waiting so here we go)
Asthelion who had been watching and observing (one doesn't survive this long by jumping into the fray without knowledge after all) has deduced that the creatures that the group had been in combat with were immune to physical blows but holy water seems to do the trick. Asthelion thinks of his one flask of holy water strapped to his backpack and sighs. Ever since an encounter with a vampire, the rogue always made a mental note to keep a flask of the stuff on hand. He didn't at the time and he escaped by the hair on his rear end. Now it looked as though he would need to use his holy water if he was to join the party. He silently cursed himself for not spending some of the reward money from his last big job in Calimport for another flask or two. Sure he could always go and get some he still had most of the money but the opportunity to do so would be undetermined meaning once he used the flask he didn't know when he could replenish his stock.
Nevertheless, as the rogue watched the fighting come to a stop and the group talk about some people going to get more holy water and having some stand guard, Asthelion emerges from the shadows holding his flask in one hand and Roxanne (his beautiful masterwork dagger) in the other hand.
"My my my", he says to them with a vicious grin acquired through years of practice and glancing at his former comrade Avan, "What have we here?"
"I agree with Veneficus, we should all go back to the clerics of Pelor and restock on vials of Holy Water. Any person left behind will sitting ducks for these shadowy fiends with no way of defending himself."
Ziminar is somewhat startled by the newcomer grabbing for his sling. But he senses this rogue has no bad intentions. Not as bad as these shadows at least.
He decides to wait and see what happens, he doesn't want to make another mistake like before.
You all decide to meet back up with the clerics of Pelor to try and obtain more holy water. However they tell you that all the holy water is being rationed out to civilians and the like for protection.
By now Kamdrogh has reacted to the shadows attacks and has put up lights (magical or otherwise) throughout the town. The citizens are reassured that the constant light will keep shadows at bay, at least from the town.
No more shadow attacks are reported for the remainder of the night. The party is tired from getting no sleep as the sun rises on a new day.
