Anti mormons are real big on the story that Joseph was a treasure hunter and a con artist.

Interestingly enough that coined term of him being a treasure digger came because he was hired by a treasure digger to find silver. The man hiring him felt that Joseph had a unique ability to find precious metals and wanted him to look. Joseph many times refused, but the man insisted. I think Joseph only decided to take the job because they were most definitely in need of money during that period. Most people at the time knew Joseph came into possession of the plates and felt he was hiding some big treasure. Sources for my information comes from the account given by Joseph's mother.

Have you ever heard of a Jupiter stone. I have heard some anti doctrine stating that he found a Jupiter stone that made him powerful and gave him some control over women.

Of course this has a hint of fantasy, but I wonder if there was some other kind of stone that he had besides the seer stones.

Of course the sword of Laban was there. I heard something about this sword being passed down from prophet to prophet.

Joseph claimed that he could see gold either using a stick or divining rod or by looking into a hat. He also applied the looking into the hat method as a means to translating the Book of Mormon.
