Keshorn Walcott - Page 3

Keshon Walcott save some face. He was about a meter short in getting the gold medal at the Commonwealth games but at least he got silver. Like he is only shine when the competition big.

So much for this young man, are they going to do this every time someone gets a gold medal? Now that the man has his home let's get on all those people who have been waiting for their home for years.

Walcott seems to be pulling his weight as he scored gold in the Pan American games a couple of days ago.

Keshorn Walcott won a Bronze medal at the Olympics for the javelin throw. He said the reason he did not do well is because he was fighting with himself and the javelin instead of relaxing.

I was trying to understand exactly what he meant by that. He looked very nervous but at least brought the only medal for his country.

He was not relaxed and focused, however like most things in this country its done at an amateur level. When you get to the Olympics you have reached a different level of performance and realization yet our athletes perform as though they are high schoolers just doing try outs by making the most absurd mistakes - fighting with themselves, running out of lane, being over emotional, taking things lightly, etc. The attitude of "Just happy to be there" will not bring in gold. According to one commentator, "Bronze is the new gold in this country".

I think people are being overly harsh. In order to get the kind of results the country seek, these athletes need to be properly supported throughout the year, not only when the Olympics are near by. Imagine Bovell, he got the swimming pool after how many years? And now he is retiring from international competition!
