Comments: How many hours per week do Trinidad and Tobago police officers have to work and what is the monthly salary?

I heard the starting salary is around $5000 and the more senior officers go from $7000 to $10,000. That is for a 40 hour work week but they are sometimes called out for overtime and don't get compensated for that. I don't know how much the superintendents and assistant commissioners get but I will imagine its a lot more but not as much as Gibbs.

Comments: A recruit gets $8,000.00 a month for training in the barracks and the starting pay for a constable in the task force I s $10,000.00 monthly, and you do get paid for overtime and that's all I can say.

Comments: In my opinion the senior police officers of our police force get too much pay. They have had decades to fix our crime problems but every year things get worse .The ACOP must stop the habit of trying to pull the wool over the eyes of our ordinary citizens every month by declaring that crime has fallen when it hasn't. We are not stupid. We live here and know what is really happening. They are not giving a good result for the high pay they get. We really don't need to increase any policeman's salary until we have some substantial results with respect to our crime scenario. What we need is more well trained honest policemen with a commitment to properly enforce law and order, not turn a blind eye to the expanding lawlessness on this island.
