Did anyone see that match in Brasil where one of the players did not like the call a Referee made and tried to get him to see his side of the story by kissing him on the cheek? The referee immediately reacted by pulling him aside and giving him a yellow card. How gross can that be and what was he thinking to kiss the referee?

You have to see the video JB. He did not do it for that purpose. Actually the player, another guy and the referee were kind of hugging each other when the kiss slipped. Where it says you can't kiss the referee? Like the player answered "I did not know".

Well the referee said it is against regulations, plus I did not see him hugging really, if anything it looked like the referee was pushing him back.

No, he does not pushes them back in the beginning . He actually leans towards them (if you look carefully) and then quickly pulls off when the player kisses him.
