Pussy Riot appeal: One freed, two remain jailed
A member of punk band Pussy Riot has been freed on appeal but a Moscow court upheld prison sentences for two others imposed over a raucous cathedral protest against Vladimir Putin, who said they had got the jail terms they deserved. Ref. Source 1

I guess this shows that freedoms in Russia still have lengths to go. I remember my history teacher saying that Russia has always been under a tyrannical government: from the tsar to the communist party. It is little to be surprised that voicing one's opinion in Russian can sometimes be dangerous.
I was sympathetic of the band, until I realized that the band stormed into a place of worship, mocked the faiths prayers, and in general expressed their own free speech by taking away other peoples rite of free speech. When I found that out, I wasn't sympathetic of the band anymore.
In that photo they don't look like they're hurting any. I didn't know that they totally disrespected other places, that's pushing it way too far.
