For over a year, I have been trying out different forms of exercise to find something that I actually enjoy to do and won't be a pain in the butt to make myself do. Recently, I've bought a really expensive bike and I think I've found my true calling. All day at work, I just can't wait to get out on the bike. I go every single day, unless there's thunderstorms.
On those days, I will do an exercise DVD from the Womens' Fitness magazine. The trainer on the DVD is Jennifer Smith. It's an amazing DVD that actually plans a whole week of workouts for you.
My mom says I shouldn't be exercising so much and that I should take a break at least once a week. At the moment, I feel fine and my doctor said it's ok to exercise as much as I do. My bike rides are 1.5 hours on weeknights and 3.4-4 hours on weekends. I work in a sitdown job, so I think this amount of time is fair, seeing as I'm sitting all day.
If you in a sit down job during the week you should get out and get some exercise. Nothing builds up the fatty tissue faster than sitting on you butt all day and then going home and doing the same thing. Having some type of exercise in life will keep you happy. It does not matter where you get the exercise just do it. Five days a week seven days a week as long as your having fun do it. The only thing I will say is if your weight training. Do not do that seven days a week. Taking one to two days a week off will help you in the long run.
I am thinking of getting a bike and riding it more. I want to be able to get back into better shape.

I will not often be heard saying this but your mom is worrying over nothing. Exercise your heart out. As long as you leave time for some fun and socialization. |
It is very good that your having a lot of fun riding your bike. I think you are not exercising as much as your having the freedom to be by yourself or with others and enjoying a nice time riding. When we say have fun we mean to say enjoy your self and all that you do when you have the time to enjoy life.
Shhh KNtoran Daria might realize she is socializing. It is great when one can find an activity that is enjoyable and fun. I loved biking there also when I used to visit my brother in Ottawa. He moved mack to my area a few year back though.
I don't know how the trails have changed since you have been on them, Krakyn. This is probably the first time in my life that I have taken the specific path that I take now. When I was younger, around 8 or 9, I would go near the lake on the gravel pathways. Now, I start out on gravel from my house in Orleans, then I move onto the pavement that follows the highway and continue onto the parkway. I could veer off to the gravel, but I love pavement so much more
And the parkway on Sundays....complete freedom
It's also really cool to bike on Sundays and see all the racing people out with their cool bikes and outfits.
