Passengers from hijacked Libyan plane freed in Malta
At least 109 of the 111 passengers that were aboard a Libyan passenger plane that was hijacked and diverted to Malta have been released, according to Malta's Prime Minister Joseph Muscat. Muscat said two hijackers and some crew members could still be aboard the Afriqiyah Airways plane. Ref. USAToday.
So, this is all fallout from the Arab Spring the press was raving about a few years ago. I remember Chris Matthews gushing how something as wonderful as the Arab Spring could only happen under a President Obama and SECSTATE Clinton administration. Now the region is unstable and people continue to die by the hundreds daily across the region.
These places are not the US and Europe. They are not used to the freedoms we enjoy nor are they used to democracy. They don't have the same level of education we have and the education they do have tends to be biased and possibly radical. Their culture and morals are different than ours. What I'm saying is they aren't ready for this and they need a more authoritative government.
Sadly enough I agree with you. It's sad that some of these countries need dictators. Look at Iraq for example. Saddam Hussein was a horrible man and did horrible things. Looking objectively though Iraq was much more stable and peaceful than it has been since his removal from power.
