I love the lyrics to this song, they have alot of meaning if you really listen. Heres some of the lyrics.
I made a god
Out of blood
Not superiority
I killed the king
Of deceit
Now I sleep in anarchy
Sacrifice to the cause
Turn your code into law
Compensate to validate the loss
Take a thief, nail him to a cross

these lyrics are from KMFDM, the song is Anarchy. give it a listen, it is very good.
It's really hard to give only one song for favorite lyrics as it might change depending on my mood, but here's one that I've loved for years for it's poetry and subtle beauty. It's from a song called "Church in the Field" by Bruce Carroll
The sky was one vast ceiling that vaulted out and on
Down to starry stained glass windows of sunsets and of dawns
an out of doors cathedral, day by day revealed
I remember church in the field
The rain fell like a sacrament on the alter of the soil
and mixed with sweat that fell from hands content with honest toil
the faith of spring saw harvest what seeds and earth would yield
I remember church in the field
There were blazing colors, there were lovely smells
I encountered fashions my poetry can't tell
mere religion hadn't tamed me yet my reverence was all real
I remember church in the field
I prayed there without thinking, I worshipped from no cue
at flashing summer thunderstorms and wild roses fresh with dew
and to mysteries and music, always just concealed
I remember church in the field
I remember church in the field
I remember church in the field
I think U2 has some of the greatest lyrics. I'm not sure if I really can say this is my absolute favorite, but "ONE" sounds just delighting:
Is it getting better...
Or do you feel the same?
Will it make it easier on you...
Now you got someone to blame
You say...
One love
One life
When it's one need... In the night
It's one love
We get to share it
It leaves you baby
If you don't care for it
Did I disappoint you?
Or leave a bad taste in your mouth?
You act like you never had love...
And you want me to go without
Well it's too late... Tonight...
To drag the past out... Into the light
We're one... But we're not the same
We get to carry each other...
Carry each other
One
Have you come here for forgiveness?
Have you come to raise the dead?
Have you come here to play Jesus...
To the lepers in your head?
Did I ask too much?
More than a lot?
You gave me nothing
Now it's all I got
We're one... But we're not the same
We hurt each other... Then we do it again
You say...
Love is a temple, love a higher law
Love is a temple, love the higher law
You ask me to enter... But then you make me crawl
And I can't be holding on... To what you got...
When all you got is hurt
One love
One blood
One life
You got to do what you should
One life...
With each other
Sisters
Brothers
One life...
But we're not the same
We get to carry each other
Carry each other
One
One
I have so many favourite songs its hard to pick just one, Tori Amos always gets me through hard times and this particular lyric always struck a chord with me.
I don't believe your leaving coz me and Charles manson like the same Ice cream
Think it's that girl, and I Think their pieces of me you've never seen maybe she's just pieces of me you've never seen!
that to me completely describes the feeling you go through when someone breaks your heart for no good reason, On a more happy note it's one of her other songs I want played at my funeral it goes.
If I die today I'll be the happy phantom, and I'll go chasing the nuns out in the yard and I'll run naked in the street without my mask on and I will never need umbrellas in the rain, I'll wake up in strawberry fields everyday!
