I am extremely skeptical of hidden codes in the Bible. There are several reasons.
I am also pretty skeptical of Bible Codes, and other such attempts to twist the bible into predicting future events or comment on our current times.
One thing that really makes me skeptical is that it seems that all of the so called prophecies that are cited relate directly to our current circumstances. Where are the bible codes on the holocaust? That was much more horrific than anything we have going on currently, and in the grand time line of the world we really aren't that much closer to the end of the world now than we were sixty years ago. So why would the bible codes mention Sadam by name, but leave out Hitler, or other influential people who have lived in the recent past.
It all seems just a little bit too far fetched for me.

Ramsus, if you click on the first link I provided you will see that there are many codes which relate to the Holocaust. |
While the original Bible Code book is certainly interesting and very thought-provoking, and the program that is used has been proven mathematically correct, the second book on the subject (from the original author) went so far out into left field I just had to laugh. He's now following up on the idea that DNA was brought here from outer space and we are all cloned from alien DNA. In addition, he's trying to excavate in the middle of the Dead Sea for.. is it the Ark of the Covenant? I haven't read it in a while, so it may be something else. Of course, with the War over there, the Jordanian government is not so eager about Americans doing anything like that, and I think most of the land is within their jurisdiction (according to the book). It will be interesting to see how his little journey goes.
In my opinion, of course.

My understanding of ancient Hebrew is there were no vowels. So, if you take the ancient Hebrew and use it to come up with codes a word like LK could mean lake, or like. I realize I am using English in the example, but I am just making a point to show that the translations and these codes can really be manipulated to say whatever it is you want them to. I purchased the original book and read much of it. I don't accept it as truth though.
