Chicago police detained thousands of black Americans at interrogation facility :

The Fox Lake, Illinois, police officer shot and killed early Tuesday was Lt. Joe Gliniewicz, Mayor Donny Schmit said. Gliniewicz was a 30-year veteran, the mayor said.

U.S. To announce probe of Chicago Police Department
The Justice Department will soon announce it is launching an investigation of the Chicago Police Department in the aftermath of the shooting death of Laquan McDonald, a Justice official told USA TODAY. The inquiry would examine whether officers engaged in a pattern of biased policing. The Chicago Police Department has come under fire after the release of a graphic video showing white Chicago police officer Jason Van Dyke shooting McDonald, a black teenager, 16 times. Ref. USAToday
Chicago police say a woman was "Accidentally struck" and killed by an officer's gunfire. Another person was also killed. The department has placed the officer on administrative duty for 30 days. Ref. CNN
Having more cops is one way to go for crowd control but I think the best way to put it to use is to have police in two so they aren't acting alone.
