Language Moderators Needed
To broaden our International Perspective here we are in need of Language Moderators who speak a language other than English. We are specifically interested in German, French, Portuguese, and others.
What we want to do is develop a Board where people can Discuss anything in their own language just as we do with the Spanish Section. Of course we will not be able to moderate these extended languages so we need Language Moderators. Please let me know if you are fluent in a language and can take up the position as Language Moderator.
Well maybe if you know of people who are bilingual and would like to get more of their second or native language going in an online setting then please refer them. We already have English and Spanish, so it will nice to have others.
I do know that Portuguese is very simular to spanish. I am sure that if you have a person who can read and write spanish fluently they can make due with Portuguese. I learned a little portuguese from a foreign exchange student from brazil. She did not think I could read it but since I know enough spanish I was able to read and get the main jiff of her journals that were written in portuguese. SHe kept her journals hidden after that.
I hope that can help you. I will let some of the people I know who are bilingual know about this site.
Well Portuguese and Spanish are similar, but no so similar that one can Moderate it. If we are going to start a section for a language then:
1. The person must be fluent at the language
2. Very active otherwise people will reply and there will be no one to verify if what is being said is free from nonsense
I appreciate all you let know about the site.
Honestly, I do not know. I am in a process of helping a newly organized business and will be hard for me to say firmly "Yes" to your question, but am active in Church. I like what I read here and shared the site with some of my friends who liked it too, but are not fluent in English and that might hinder them from participating.
Having a Bulgarian board might break through their build up wall.
I appreciate all the work that is done here and know it is a lot. I have my website in Bulgarian about LDS, the only one in Bulgarian, positively speaking about LDS and it is hard to attract the attention of the people who want to speak clean and discuss in a civilized manner.
If you think I can help, let me know. If not now, some day when I have more time will propose it again.
