Out of Character: Sorry damage to dog was 19 not !9 If that changes things Mistyped.
In Character: Durgan can see that there is a pressure plate on the middle step. Any one stepping on it caused a spell to go off. Now that the spell is spent it will not reactivate.

The Chainbreaker says... Sessativa puts her hand on Zork's shoulder to comfort him, but Durgan just hurries everyone. "If this was set up by someone they will know you are coming. Revenge will only occur if we end up the victors, and if they're ready, we may not defeat them."
Durgan looks at the corridor ahead, but stops since he fears more traps. He will take off his new gold holy symbol and polish the back of it to use as a mirror. When he can see a clear reflection, he uses it to peer around the closest opening.
"I reckon this looks awfully like a corridor full of arrow traps. Or worse, more fire traps. I will look here for what exactly it does, you guys look for the triggers."
While Durgan tries to identify if there a trap and what kind it is, Sessativa looks for pressure plates or some other trigger.

The Swift Sword says...Zork is apprehensive about letting more of his dogs face traps but he is also even more apprehensive about putting himself through it. So he commands one dog forward to search in the main corridor only.

As Durgan polishes his holy symbol Zork has one of his dogs search the main corridor. It walks down to the doorway and turns to come back. About that time spiders come out of the openings in the wall and attack the dog. I will need initiative roll as well as action, attacks or what ever else you are planning.

In Character: Zork curses the presence of even more spiders. He calls back his dog and starts to swing while telling the other dog to attack.
