Sessativa emboldened by this guy's inability to hit, continues her attacks.

Page 220 RPG Dragons and Dungeons Advance KNtoran
Durgans attempt at intimidation fails. The ruffian attacks him still but misses him, Durgan hits him for 3 damage. He attacks Durgan and misses with Durgan missing him too. Then Durgan gets in a solid blow killing the ruffian. The lady is wonded and bruised but ok. The dinning room is clear.
Sessativa keeps swinging but misses the ruffian misses her too. She attacks and misses but the ruffian attacks and hits her for 4 damage. She retaliates hitting him for 6 damage killing him. The kitchen is now clear.
Zork heads downstairs in the basement he can hear the ruffians going through things. HE rounds a corner and is attacked but the ruffian misses him. He misses the ruffian. Two other ruffians hearing the combat come to assist their friend. They both miss as does their friend. Zork misses too. The ruffians work on surrounding Zork with one barely missing Zork. Zork gets a good blow in on the one trying to get behind him causing 6 damage. They miss him again and he finished the one off that was almost behind him.
Just the two left in the basement with Zork.

The Chainbreaker says... Durgan quickly checks the parlor and the kitchen to make sure none are there.
Sessativa tells him, "I'll be right out. Keep one alive." She makes sure the coast is clear of friendlies as well, then enters the secret room.
Durgan heads into the basement and casts Hold Person on the first enemy he sees, unless they're all dead by that time. If they slip out, he will try to knock them out or subdue them non-lethally.
Out of Character: Durgan's temporary HP is gone, but he has not a scratch. Not sure what penalties there are for non-lethal in AD&D.
Durgan Results:
- Mace Attack on D20 (+3): 17 (1 roll)
- Mace Damage on D8 (+2): 9 (1 roll)

The Swift Sword says...Zork smiles saying, "Today all of you will die… " as he swings for the fences.

By the time that Durgan makes it down the stairs and to the basement where Zork is at. HE will find three dead bodies and Zork standing there. The two ruffians missed Zork but Zork did not miss them. Killing one in the first round and the second in the next round. The second one dropping to lay still as Durgan made it to the bottom step.
