Out of Character: Ok, then. Durgan will wait at a spot where he can still see Sessativa - just barely.
Sessativa will wait to see if she can glimpse their stalkers.
I just realised what you suggested, Txtrpg. How would an invisible person signal?
While standing still as the others move on Sessativa spots the elf moving slowly and carefully towards the area she is at. Looking about she does not see anyone else. The elf is dressed in multiple shades of green and brown that helps her blend in with the forest very well. The elf is about 40 feet from Sessativa when she stops and looks around harder. Durgan can not see the elf from where is at.
Sessativa takes a moment to study her quarry harder. She tries to remember her face, hair, any symbols of rank or affiliation, weapons or armor. She looks around, aware enough that there should be a second target.
If she's satisfied there's no one else, she tries to figure out if the elf is carrying any magic items by casting the non-offensive Detect Magic spell.
Out of Character: She should remain invisible, but the sound would give her away. If the elf gets close enough, perhaps she'll try taking an item off her. How difficult would the roll be?
Then she plans to teleport away.
Zork occasionally looks back to see if he spots the follower. "Maybe they are friendly? They know we know they are there so what would be the use of still trying to follow us in that manner?"
Sessativa does not see anyone else. As she starts the incantations for the detect magic spell the elf freezes and looks directly at Sessativas spot. She will pull her bow and ready an arrow. In Elvish she will demand you show yourself. Sessativa finishes her spell and the elf lights up. Almost everything she is wearing is magical.
Durgan and Zork I need some d6 and d12 rolls from you.
Hoping to strike some common ground, Sessativa replies in Elvish, "I'm sorry I can't do that right now. Not threatened in this way. Perhaps you'd like to tell me why you are following my party? Who do you work for?"
She knows she's taking a big risk by talking more.
"Wait, I thought I saw something or did I... Let me have a closer look… ", says Zork.
