The leaders sword is magical, Inside the big tent you will find a mage that is burnt along with the ashes of what was a table and papers to include a few maps and other possibly important documents that are now ash. You do find two wands and a couple large chests in the back of the tent that are locked. As you search the leader you will find that he has a key around his neck. His armor is full plate armor finely made. But it is not magical. He stood 6'8" so it is unusable to any of you. You will find the horses a little ways off tied to a line between tow trees where they have plenty to eat. They seem very happy and well cared for.
Sessativa tries to calm the horses, prepares one with saddle, bit and bridle and tries to mount up.
Durgan suggests, "We should also take the rest of them. They will be better cared for the in the Earl's stables and who know what else lurks out here. We should load them up with all this excess gear - anything we can take that won't slow us down too much."
Prioritising loading up magical gear, then all the armor, weapons, tents, accessories, bedrolls, and finally food and water. If Durgan thinks the horses will be slowed by weight, he just leaves the gear behind.
Sessativa warns everyone to stay a good distance away as she checks the chests for traps, then tries to use the leader's key.
Out of Character: I've been forgetting the elf racial ability of +1 to hit with short swords!
Using the key on the chests she is able to unlock them and not see or find and traps. As she opens the chests she will see many many coins with a few other items mixed inside.
The horses and docile and they are able to be mounted with no issue. You would be able to pack most of all the equipment onto the horses and head towards the Earls place. Hopefully this is the last of the men paid to keep the Earl ignorant.
Zork is moved by Sessativa's show of affection. He rests for a bit as he watches the couple go through the things and organize it. He simply says, "You all can say how we should proceed."
Everything is packed on the horses and ashes and other signs of a camp are covered with dirt. There's no time left for grave digging, so we continue north, hoping to finally reach the easterly road.
Looking at the road Zork comments, "It is a well serviced road… that could be both good and bad but I will defer to you for if we go now or camp and in which direction. It might do good to make a cold camp near the road to see who tends to use it.
"After that amazing healing spell, I don't think we need a good night's rest," Durgan says. "While I think this is the road to the Earl's domain, I like that idea just to make sure. No fire is fine and we will do the watches with Sessativa first, you second, and me thrid."
The camp is set up 60' from the road, horses tied to trees. If there's enough time left in the day, Sessativa picks one of the wands to study it and casts the Identify ritual (100 gp subtracted).
Durgan casts Wyvern's Watch on the road causing a mist to rise up in the vague shape of a Wyvern. He shows Zork and Sessativa where it's safe to hide and keep watch.
