Durgan doesn't change his mind and still returns to the inn, thanking Estari. While having a drink he looks at the note, unless it's sealed. He thinks about what kind of witty remark to tell the house seller next time they meet.
Durgan - The note is not sealed. IT tells the house merchant that you have a referral from the commander of the city guards and that you should be dealt with trust and good will to keep the town guard happy with making sure the house merchant still profits from fair dealings.
Zork - Make sure you make the changes on your character sheet if you have not already.
After talking at the inn both agree to a plan and a meeting next midday.
Durgan goes to bed upstairs making sure to lock up and block the door and window with something, at least enough to make noise when opened.
The next day he returns to the house seller, hands him the note, and says, "Before we continue I must also know more about the house and have a look."
Zork takes a day off, relaxing and continuing his riding.

The house seller reads the note and then looks at you. "Yes Sir we can take a look at the house if you will accompany me." He leads you outside and down the street. Soon he turns right onto another street you notice the name of the street as Candle street. As you walk uo the street you can see the buildings are in very good shape and much nicer than some of the common buildings. At about the halfway point he stops and walks up to a nice three story large house. The door is iron reinforced and has a lock. The house seller produces a key and unlocks the door allowing you to enter the house first. Once inside you can see a nice large front room with stairs leading up. The main floor has the large front room, a small sitting room, a dining room and a kitchen that has a larder that leads out back. In the back of the house is a small stable capable of holding four horses. There is a wall around the back of the house and a gate that opens to a alleyway that is wide enough for two horses or a small cart. The house seller also shows you a a concealed door in the kitchen that leads to a small cellar. Inside the cellar you can see shelves used for storage and even some barrels of wine that were left there. The house seller tells you the wine barrels come with the house you see there are four that are unopened. Heading back up to the second floor there are five rooms. A short hallway connects them all to the stair landing with another set of stairs heading upwards. The four rooms off the hallway can be used as bedrooms all of them are about 20'x20' with the room at the end of the hallway opening up to a privy and bath room. The bath is a full sized tub with a screened off portion that leads to the privy. Heading up to the third floor you see three large rooms that can serve as bedrooms and down at the end of the short hallway it opens up to a even larger room that has its own small privy through a door at one end and a large wardrobe at the other end. The house seller will lead you back downstairs to the main floor. He looks to you and says this can all be yours for the nice price of $13,000 Gold.
After a meeting with Durgan earlier, Zork will seek a room at the inn and leave his horse with their horse handlers / stable boys. He asks the innkeeper for the cost of that and a hot meal. He then retires to meet back with Durgan the next day.
Zork is quite happy to pay the fees and then heads up to his room after having his meal. "After spending so much gold in one day I need some rest..." He says to himself while taking off his armor and equipment. He then will rest to meet with Durgan the next day.
