Durgan will commission the chest to be made as high quality as possible within the short timeframe of a day (The money can be in the secret room for now). He will also replace any chairs, tables or beds that might be damaged or missing and buy a coat rack for the sitting room. He buys candles for lighting and firewood for warmth.
He also purchases some long life foods, biscuits, pickled vegetables, salted meats and nuts to last for two weeks in case of emergency. Then he goes out to buy fresh food and horse feed, just two days worth.
Satisfied for now, he sits at the front of the house, waiting for his guests.
The Black smith has some nice fine looking chests available to purchase now. The nice ones that are very sturdy and well built will cost you 4 gold for a large and 2 gold for a small for wooden if you want a iron chest it will be 40 gold for a large and 20 gold for a small. A good lock will be 1 gold, cheap lock 5 silver.
You then head over to the general supplier. The food stuff can be purchased and sent over to your place today all for a nice small fee of 10 gold.
Heading to the wood workers place you will be able to update your house furniture for 100 gold. It will take a week for them to have it all delivered and set up in your house. They suggest hiring a maid or house servant to keep your place for you while you are away and even suggest the servants guild as a place to find someone who will assist you.
A large iron chest with the good lock sounds fine. Durgan pays all the vendors for their wares, adding a bit of small talk during each transaction to appear friendly.
Durgan doesn't like the idea of having a servant. To him the occupation is just a short step up from being a slave. Any worker hired by him would be treated as an equal, not paid to be subservient. He tries to explain his point of view to the woodworker who suggested it. He assures them that Sessativa should be there most of the time.
Out of Character: While Sessativa is now an NPC for you to use, I assume they enamoured each other and are starting a relationship. I hope you don't mind the control I'm exerting.

Zork leaves Durgan's and heads towards the tavern for a drink, to hear some gossip and see if there are any beautiful women there that matches the descriptions of his dream.
Emily did not realize that Zork had left. She continues to help clean up. When done she will head to the Inn to check on Zork.
