Durgan's sudden action takes him off guard. The most he can do is draw his weapon and hope for the best being glad the magic lady is with them. He will attack if they choose not to surrender.
As you burst through the door you see men start to jump up and grab weapons their dicing and cleaning forgotten. They do not seem like they are going to give up at all. One rising from the chair he was sitting on suddenly stops moving as if frozen in a rising motion and sword coming out of the sheath. The rest continue coming your way when a gust of wind comes from no where and knocks everyone off their feet and back against the back wall. At the same time you hear a shout as a door is thrown open behind you. The Lady shouts, "Behind us Danger!" As she steps into the room ahead of you. "I got this."
Durgan says, "Didn't expect both rooms to be active. Let's use the doorway as a choke point."
He stands in the doorway waiting for an attacker to come into range.
Out of Character: I already rolled, even though they are terrible Zork's action will simply be to turn around and 'attack' in the other direction but this is more like try to make it out of this combat round.
In Character: "Agreed!" Zork leaves the lady to do her thing while he stands with Durgan.
In Character: Sarcastically Zork bellows, "I guess now is the time to retreat?" Zork backs up towards the exit while letting his arrows go against the men using his bow.
Out of Character: Why are you guys still using one roll? When you use 4 your chances are better and combat speeds up.
Also, with the explode I also select "Yes" For the "Roll FULL Range D2-D100:" Because that allows our Dungeon Master to select more damage should we score a 20. I read that in the help page. That also answers about doing explode for damage.
"Retreat?" Durgan says, "I've hardly been scratched. "These ruffians don't stand a chance but we have to stick."
Durgan uses the few seconds he has to cast a Bless spell instead of an attack. Allies +1 attack and damage!
"Don't waste your chance to surrender!" He shouts as he raises his mace swinging at the first man out the door.
Out of Character: Well, Durgan can do more than just attack, and he has to react to different situations that may come up in the combat. I rolled 4 new attacks, considering the different bonus.
Durgan casts bless on the small group as the party prepares for a fight. You hear the lady mumbling words of magic and then hear a man scream in pain from behind you as you see the six men coming towards you. The lead man is dropped almost immediately in the far corridor just outside the door as he is shot in a eye by Zork The rest stop for a bit before heading back towards you screaming for your blood.
