After hearing out the cleric, Durgan turns to Erallis. "Well, now, finding tomes in tombs sounds much more worthy of our attention. Goblins and thugs are important to deal with but that's what an army is for, eh?"
Erallis gives Durgan a shaky smile, "I'm a little bit scared of the undead."
"What's the pay?" He asks the maiden in the clergy uniform.
*****************
Gregmon stands in the market and taps his booted foot impatiently. Still no Erallis.
"He must have forgotten we were supposed to meet here..." He thinks.
He sighs heavily, a deep bass rumble which reverberates around his helmet, making his voice sound oddly metallic, then begins walking, looking for the nearest tavern.
Erallis turns back to Durgan after donating 5 Gp to the priestess.
"Yeah, the pay sounds good, and you seem like a pretty tough fellow. I'm willing to go with you on this venture. We should find Gregmon before we go, though."
*******************************
Gregmon walks into a tavern and looks around. No Erallis.
He continues walking down the street.
"Me? As your...shield?" Erallis laughs, a quick chuckle. "I don't think I'm exactly suited to being anyone's shield."
Erallis leads the way out of the temple, heading for the tavern district.
"Gregmon can be both our shields. He's burly."
"No." Erallis responds every time, until, at last, it actually is Gregmon.
The knight is about average height, and his chainmail is very shiny. His voice rings loudly from the eyeslit of his conical helmet.
"Eri! Where have you been? I found us an epic quest to be about!"
Erallis grins and walks up to the knight, "Durgan, this is Gregmon, Gregmon,Durgan. Durgan and I found a quest, too. From a temple. We have to clear undead out of some crypt or some such."
Gregmon extends a hand to Durgan, "Well met, Durgan."
"Greetings Gregmon," Durgan replies. He takes the hand and tries to apply some pressure, attempting to prove his strength. "It is tomes the temple is after, the undead happen to be in our way. I hope you have no qualms about dealing with them, mostly I shall take responsibility for disposal of the scourge."
