Late afternoon, before sundown, Durgan finishes his shopping around and is sitting in front of his house on Candle Street. It's a large 3 storey building with a large front room with stairs leading up, and a sitting room on the ground floor.
Durgan is surprised when Zork shows up with Emily. "Hello again Zork, I didn't realise you were coming with a friend."
“Good afternoon and forgive my intrusion.” Emily steps forward and continues, “I believe your name is Durgan. Zork and Morg Thal have been kind enough to fill me in on your recent adventures. They also told me you had purchased a residence, but they failed to describe its charm properly. What a lovely home you have.
Forgive me, where are my manners. I know of you, but you know nothing of me. My name is Emily. I have recently come to this fine town to seek ones such as yourself and your friends. I seek adventure and mystery. I hope to gain more knowledge to further my studies in the mystic arts.
Your young friends here have told me of these nefarious highwaymen you have successfully defeated. I was fortunate to not have encountered them on my journey here. As a young lady alone in the wilderness, there is no telling what might have befallen me had I done so.
“These fine men,” Emily turns to Zork and gives a small wink, “have been very gracious escorts and I was hoping that I could be a part of any future quests your group might be engaged in. I wish to grow in my skills and seek my destiny. I also hope to be a member of a strong group that can all share in glory and battle. I can offer my services as you see fit.”
“If there is anything more I can offer to persuade you in allowing me to join, please do not hesitate to ask.”
Durgan welcomes her, "It's nice to meet you. Clearly, I must be more noticeable in town than I first thought. I didn't realise what an influence I had."
Durgan leads everyone past the large entrance room with the staircase, letting them leave anything in the otherwise empty sitting room. He talks as they offload and he leads everyone through the next door.
"It's always good to have help so someone can watch your back. I am concerned though that too many people would not look like an appealing target to bandits. That's why we're meeting though. To plan ahead. We don't need to go with my original idea of sending bait to lure the bandits out."
Durgan brings everyone to the dining room. The table is plain wood with ornate legs, but no tablecloth. 4 large gold platters are set to serve as plates with matching gold cups, but the cutlery is plain and the whole scene looks thrown together.
Durgan shouts to the open door of the kitchen "Could we set up one more space for another guest?" He goes in and emerges with another platter, followed by an elf woman with black hair and amber eyes carrying the cup and cutlery.
Durgan starts, "Everyone, please meet Sessativa, who has adventured with me before."
Manner-less Zork of course adds his two cents, "Nice place for the rich and wealthy, although you could have done something more with the curtains". He laughs heartily not caring if he might be irritating his new friends.
Emily smiles at Zork’s playful dig on their host. That smile is quickly replaced when Emily gazes up on the site of the young elf coming out of the kitchen. Not sure if this elf is the lady of the house, she composes herself and responds with a smile and in Elven, “My lady, you are so young and pretty. What a lovely home you have here. Were you recently wed?”
Durgan offers, "Well, Zork, you can pull them down if you want to. This isn't an inn. Just replace them with something better if you do."
Sessativa replies in Elven to Emily, "No, I'm not yet. We just moved in together, that's all. And thank you for the compliments. If you like the house now, we can only make it better."
Out of Character: Is Sessativa another character you control Icon? Is Durgan and her a couple? Just trying to understand the relationship.
In Character: "Not me!" Says Zork very firmly. "I don't do curtains, I do blade to flesh." He puts up a big smile and then takes an available seat.
